Lars Mikkelsen-3-1024x657Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen, born 6 May 1964, is a Danish actor. He has played Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock), the Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour in 2011, aged of 27. In 1995, he was admitted to the National Theatre School of Denmark. In addition to his appearance in The Killing, [1] He also appeared on Borgen III, a Danish drama that was highly regarded. He also played a lead role in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer Charles Magnussen.In the American television series House of Cards, he played the role of President Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 to honor his performance in Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This series was broadcast in the UK in 2019, as Ride Upon the Storm.
