Anna Paquin was born in the city of Winnipeg, but was raised in Wellington. She was the first actress to make her acting debut in Flora McGrath, her character in the romance film The Piano. Paquin was born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's father, was first seen on stage in the role of Flora McGrath. The actress also played the Princess of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She played teens as teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
