Dolly-Parton
born on January. 19th, 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later consist of 12 children Dolly Parton learned early to get away from the struggles of life by using her vivid and expansive imagination. Before learning how to write and read, Dolly Parton was creating her own music. In 8 years, she was playing her first guitar. At age 11, she began to sing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. Gold Band Records is a tiny, independent label. Although she was studying, she established a name for herself within the local arena. But her dream was to be able to make music on a larger level. After graduating the high school in 1964, she moved immediately to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner's syndicated TV show was in need of a new singer at around the time. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing to RCA Records. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974 when her solo hits like Joshua Coat of Many Colors & Jolene beat out the collaborations. Parton wrote "I Will Always Love You" to Wagoner just after the pair split. The song reached No. The first time it made it to No. 1 was 1974.
