Harry Edward Styles (also known as Harry Styles in the music world) is a British composer and singer. Harry Styles was one of the original members of One Direction. Harry Styles was born in Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, England on the 1st of February 1994, and is the son of Des Styles and Anne Cox. Harry Styles attended the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive school, where, with three other students, he founded the group he was a part of, White Eskimo. In 2009 they participated in the Battle of Bands where thanks to their outstanding performances, they were winners. Despite having always been interested in music as well, he was also interested in becoming an attorney or physiotherapist. For a while he worked part-time in a bakery in his city with the aim of helping people financially in the home. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition in which he performed Stevie Wonder's song Is not She Lovely. This is why his band broke up. In the course of auditioning on The X Factor the jury Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Harry Styles would be part of the group that was to be called One Direction along with Liam Payne Zayn Malik Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell was the sponsor of this band, which began in the year 2010. The group played songs, such as My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson and Total Eclipse of the Heart from Bonnie Tyler so the group could be considered one of the contestants to win the competition. The group was in third place, just behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Harry Styles, his group as well as Cowell failed to take home the event. Then Cowell provided Harry Styles a 2 million pound contract to sign up with Syco.
